Gender-based and sexual violence: what are we talking about?
Gender-based and sexual violence (GBV) These are all the acts, words, and behaviors imposed by one person on another that are sexist or sexual in nature. This type of violence has multiple causes and manifestations: words, actions, harassment, and assaults.
What all SSVs have in common is their compulsory nature: the individual's consent is neither sought nor respected.
We're talking about gender-based violence when acts, words and behaviors target a person because of their gender identity or sex.
We're talking about sexual violence when the acts, words and behaviors target sexuality, the imposition of a sexual act, or an attack on areas identified as being sexual (thighs, breasts, buttocks, genitals, mouth).
Our commitments
We are committed to the prevention of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), the protection and support of victims and witnesses of SGBV, and the processing of SGBV reports.
Reporting a VSS to the University of Grenoble Alpes (UGA)
An online form has been set up for staff and students of UGA and its constituent institutions Grenoble INP - UGA and Ensag - UGA. It is intended to receive, for oneself or for a third party, any report relating to sexual harassment, discrimination, or abuse of rights.
Training in the fight against gender-based violence
We offer training and awareness-raising activities related to this topic, in order to equip our staff, students and pupils to promote responsible behavior and combat inappropriate behavior.
You can, in particular, take the online training module "Gender-Based and Sexual Violence: Stop!" . This module, produced by specialists, lasts 3 hours and allows you to earn an open badge.
