Insure your home: home insurance and civil liability
All accommodation, whether furnished or unfurnished, must be insured by the tenant for the duration of the lease. When you hand over the keys, you must provide your landlord or agency with a certificate of insurance, which must be renewed every year.
Civil liability
Liability insurance is mandatory. It enables cover the damage that you may unintentionally cause to others. This insurance is required for finalize your registration to your establishment.
Your home insurance must include at least rental risk guarantee covering fire, water damage and explosions.
Please note, however, that this guarantee does not cover your property or damage to neighbors.
For more comprehensive coverage, we recommend that you take out a comprehensive home insurance. This often includes personal liability insurance.

You can take out a home insurance policy with a wide range of organizations, including student mutual insurers, banks and insurance companies.
You are free to choose the organization that suits you best.
Cost of home insurance
Rates depend on a number of criteria (surface area, location, value of goods inside the home...) and are set freely by insurance companies. They can therefore vary from one company to another: don't hesitate to compare offers.
Tip
You can benefit from advantageous rates from student mutual insurance companies.
