Food, telephone, health, leisure... Everyday expenses that you shouldn't forget to budget for!

Power supply

Food is an essential expense: you should expect to spend between €200 and €300 a month, depending on your consumption and eating habits.

Crous university restaurants (RU) offer meals at a single price of 3,30 €. If you are a scholarship holderwhen you check out, you automatically benefit from the 1 fare for a full meal.

health

Even if your health expenses are reimbursed by your insurance, you may have to pay in advance before you receive the reimbursement. For example, a consultation with a general practitioner under agreement costs €25. If you have declared a GP, your health insurance will reimburse €17.5 (i.e. 70%). The remainder is your responsibility, unless you have a complementary health.

Depending on your situation, you may have to pay for supplementary health insurance or private health insurance.

A wide range of services (consultations, vaccinations) are available. without advance payment with the student health service of Grenoble and health youth center in Valence.

Bank charges

Although opening a bank account is free, there is usually a charge for providing a payment card and maintaining a bank account. Expect to pay between €4 and €10 per month.

Finally, you'll need to budget for your leisure activities, whether sporting, cultural or tourist...

Other expenses

It's important not to forget other expenses such as clothing, books, university equipment... On average, you'll need to spend an extra hundred euros a month.
