The study of vocalizations in living organisms (animals, but also plants and bacteria), also known as "bioacoustics," has undergone major transformations in recent years with the rise of artificial intelligence. For the general public, this has translated into the arrival of highly effective mobile recognition applications. However, progress is uneven across different taxonomic groups, as it depends on the amount of available training data, and primarily concerns birds, particularly European and North American species. 
A recent area of ​​research therefore consists of studying how these masses of data of animal vocalizations, even unbalanced ones, can be used to study species that are little known or not yet known.
