Thursday 8 and Friday 9 October from 12:30pm to 1:15pm, by reservation.
Go behind the scenes of the research and ask about the house specialties!
12 exceptional visits based on astronomy, geology, chemistry or neuroscience at DCM, IGE, IPAG, ISTerre, LEGI, LEPMI, LPNC, OSUG and SIMaP.

Science lunch breaks
From Friday, October 2nd to Wednesday, October 7th, from 11am to 1pm
Spark your curiosity with the presentations by university scientists in the halls of the University Libraries!
The program includes: insects, glaciers, cements, DIY sensors, biodiversity, quantum mechanics, food, and the study of a manuscript...
The shows and the evenings
When the arts meet the sciences, scholarly delights awaken both the senses and curiosity. Enjoy performances that nourish both the imagination and the mind.
All shows require reservations .
  • Science games evening on Tuesday, October 6th, 6pm - 8pm at EVE, with the Graal Grenoble association ( more info ).
Come and discover the games created by PhD students during the last Scientific Game Jam, and many other scientific games!
  • Carnée Conference , Wednesday, October 7, 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m .: a theatrical conference by the Gérard Gérard Company at EST - Espace Scénique Transdisciplinaire

Through the interpretation of figures (PowerPoint), the examination of ethical questions (bulletproof vests) and the recounting of their peregrinations in the very vast world of the meat industry, the Gérard Gérard company offers you a short recap of their investigations: from the summit of livestock farming to the Butchers' Show, from the rutting of the deer to the archaeozoology lab, not forgetting the ballet of pallet trucks in the Rungis Pavilions and the ghost of Maïté.
Conceived as a complement to the CARNE show, the Carnée Conference is the venue for the presentation of the research of the Gérard Gérard company.
  • AI & Expert Flavors : Technology and Food, THE Thursday, October 8, 12:30-1:30 PM : a dramatized lecture by the One euro does not make spring, at the Jonquille amphitheater, INSPE Grenoble

This dramatized lecture invites you to discover artificial intelligence from a new perspective. It offers a fresh look at food and the challenges of health public, to question the advantages and risks of AI tools and to understand how technology can support positive changes in our lifestyle and well-being.
Proposed by the Skills and Professions of the Future project EFELIA-MIAI and the MIAI Cluster institute.

  • CARNE , Thursday, October 8, 6:30-8:00 PM : a street arts performance by the Gérard Gérard Company , under the MUSE market hall (due to rain during the day)

"CARNE" is a show to question, highlight, and collectively reclaim a subject that concerns us all: MEAT. A creation that directly poses the question: how do we share a meal?
Is meat right-wing? Does eating better mean chewing more? Is chicken a fruit or a vegetable? If I stop eating meat, will I be able to go skiing?
A play exploring our relationship with meat and animals through the eyes of five characters from the same village. During the intermission, everything suddenly shifts... Daydreams and nightmares mingle with our human flesh, tearing down masks and revealing what troubles us.
Not recommended for children under 10 years old.
The conferences
On the agenda: expertly curated lectures to stimulate thought. Time to explore current research and its societal implications.
  • Cadmium in chocolate? Monday, October 5, 6:30 p.m.-8 p.m. at IMAG with Géraldine Sarret, CNRS research director and Fabien Letort, doctoral student at the Institute of Earth Sciences (ISTerre), reservation required.

What are the sources of cadmium exposure in our diet? And how can we limit our exposure? In this presentation, Géraldine Sarret and Fabien Letort will focus specifically on chocolate, which contributes (albeit in a small amount) to our cadmium intake. You will follow its journey from the soil to the cocoa beans and discover the research conducted to better understand and limit this transfer into our food.
  • What is my professor looking for? Tuesday, October 6, 12-1 p.m. at DLST - Room B013 with Boris Brun-Barrière, physics professor at UGA and researcher at CEA

How to build a quantum computer? Boris Brun-Barrière, professor of physics at UGA and researcher at CEA, will introduce you to one of the most promising avenues: exploiting the magnetic moment of electrons, called "spin", as well as the difficulties it involves.
As part of the new lecture series "What is my professor looking for?" from the Department of Bachelor of Science and Technology (DLST)

  • Could your microbiota control your food purchases? Tuesday, October 13, 1:00-1:45 pm in the Joseph-Fourier University Library amphitheater with Christophe Moinard, professor of nutrition at Grenoble Alpes University ( more info ). The date has been postponed by one week due to the strikes.

Our eating habits, and in particular our shopping habits, are influenced by numerous parameters that have been the subject of many studies. Recently, an original proposal has been put forward: what if, when you go grocery shopping, it's not you who chooses, but your gut microbiota that decides for you? Christophe Moinard, professor of nutrition at the University of Grenoble Alpes, will shed light on the scientific data on this question.
As part of the "Science Infused" workshops at the University Libraries
  • Food influencers and social media : Wednesday, October 7, 2-4 pm at MUSE with Léa Gruyer, researcher at the GRESEC laboratory and lecturer at IUT2 Grenoble ( more info )

Today, influencers play a crucial role in disseminating information on social media, advising their followers on dietary habits. By studying their online communication strategies, Léa Gruyer examines the impact of their recommendations on our eating habits.
Open primarily to teachers, by reservation only.

  • How to encourage (regular) insect consumption? Tuesday, October 13, 12:30-1:30 pm at the MSH-Alpes with Agnès Helme-Guizon, Professor of Social Marketing at Grenoble IAE-INP, and researcher at the CERAG laboratory ( more info )

Despite the benefits for the health Despite environmental concerns, insects are struggling to find their place on Western plates. Why do these obstacles persist despite a diverse range of options? The answer may lie in a new approach: involving consumers in developing solutions.
As part of the “Avenue Centrale. Rendez-vous en sciences humaines” series of the Maison des Sciences de l'Homme (MSH-Alpes).
All week

Science is written and transcribed in 1000 ways in words and images.

  • Follow the adventures and expeditions of Éclats de sciences on our social networks!
  • Fancy some reading? A selection of books in the university libraries to explore the theme of scholarly flavors in many scientific fields.
