Heading for the COPs - Kick-off for a UGA student's long cycling trip

On September 1, 2026, Adrien Chareau will set off from the Patio of MUSE on his more than 6000 kilometer cycling journey to join the COPs on biodiversity and climate.
Adrien Chareau, a student at Grenoble Alpes University, will present his 6,000+ kilometer cycling journey at the Patio de Muse on September 1st from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM. He is traveling to the COP17 (Conference of the Parties) on biodiversity in Yerevan, Armenia, which will be held from October 18th to 30th, 2026. He will then continue his journey to the COP31 on climate change, which will take place in Antalya, Turkey, from November 9th to 20th, 2026.

COPs are international events and decision-making bodies that bring together the states that have signed an international convention. "The goal of this journey is to support the mobilization of civil society and youth organizations during two global summits being held on Europe's doorstep," explains the student. So why travel to the COPs by bike? And how do you prepare for a long bike trip? Adrien Chareau will answer these questions before setting off.
