    - In Grenoble If you are the victim of a theft, you can lodge a complaint with the police station of your choice.
      You will need to lodge a complaint in order for your insurance to cover it.
      
      In most cases, you can lodge a complaint directly online, without having to go to a police station or gendarmerie.

  - Mediation with the administration As a general rule, it is more effective to try to resolve the problem as close as possible to its origin, and with your local contacts.
    Lecturer > Head of your course > Director of a component (Faculty, UFR, etc.)
    
    At each level, student representatives can assist you. Contact your component to find out who your elected representatives are.
    
    Dialogue can be extended with the University's central services (Direction Formation, UGA Presidency).
  - Register under your first or family name Upon written request to the institution, you may be referred to at Université Grenoble Alpes by your first or customary name, or have your gender changed on several documents.
    These changes can be made even if the civil status change procedure has not yet been completed.
    
    To request a change of first name on your institutional e-mail address, please send your request directly to the "SOS Students" department at the following address sos-etudiants@univ-grenoble-alpes.fr
