What is complementary health insurance?
Complementary health insurance is designed for students whose financial circumstances do not allow them to pay for optional complementary health insurance.
It means you don't have to pay for doctors, dentists, physiotherapists, hospitals or medicines.
In most cases, it will cover dentures, glasses and hearing aids.
It guarantees no advance payment of health costs.
It guarantees that doctors' fees are not exceeded.
Who can benefit?
International students
If you have a limited budget, and are registered with the French health insurance system, you can apply for complementary health insurance through your local caisse primaire d'assurance maladie.
