Signing the rental contract or lease

The rental agreement (or lease) sets out the rights and obligations of both parties. Drawn up in duplicate, it must be signed by both tenant and landlord.
This contract must include the following:
  • Owner's name and address.
  • Name(s) of tenant(s).
  • Effective date and term of lease.
  • Unit surface area.
  • Rent and payment terms.
  • Amount of security deposit.
  • Agency fees (if applicable).

Please note

Once the rental contract has been signed, you'll need to pay the first month's rent, the security deposit and any agency fees.
