Things to watch out for when looking for accommodation

Even if abuses are rare, it's a good idea to be vigilant when looking for accommodation.

Beware of list merchants

Some professionals ask you to pay in advance to access a list of accommodation. Beware, these lists are rarely up to date, and paying does not guarantee you'll get a home.

Beware of low prices

If the ad is tempting and the price is much lower than those you see in other ads, it may be hiding something.

Beware of remote bank transfers

When renting directly from a landlord, do not send money remotely without first signing a rental agreement.

Energy poverty: choosing the right home

You can opt for social housing, which is often better insulated, or shared accommodation (classic, solidarity, intergenerational) to share costs.
