The open badge for ecological transformation (TREC)

The TREC open badge allows you to showcase your commitment and skills in the field of ecological transformation. It enables you to highlight your concrete actions for the environment, whether within your studies, your student association, or your daily life.
At Université Grenoble Alpes, we value our students' commitment through open badges. These digital badges highlight and recognize active participation in a program (training, tutoring, workshop, event, etc.) during which a cross-disciplinary skill is put into practice.

What is an open badge?

An open badge is a single, secure, verifiable digital certificateA badge is a digital image in which metadata are stored. The metadata contained in a badge makes it possible to identify to whom the badge was issued, by whom and on what basis.

Open badge is used for recognize, enhance and make visible a skill, a know-how, a know-how, a role, a contribution, a participation, an achievement, a project or simply an interest.

It can be delivered by communities of practice, organizations, universities, associations or companies, and its digital format makes it easy to share on professional networks, and integrate into e-portfolios or online CVs.

Why apply for an open badge?

By requesting the open badge associated with the device you have followed, you can keep a dematerialized record of skills developed and any work you may have produced. You can distribute it at any time.

How do I use an open badge?

The open badge belongs to you! You decide how you use it: share it on your CV or social network profilesOpen badges can be stored, archived or temporarily hidden. There are also passports or badge bags, digital spaces where you can receive, manage and share your open badges (e.g. Open badges passeport).

The TREC open badge

The TREC open badge values the ability to understand one's social and environmental environment in order to have a global vision to guide a project or a strategy.

The recipient of this badge has demonstrated his or her ability to observe and analyze his or her ecological and societal environment in real-life situations:
  • Identify the various stakeholders and understand their issues.
  • Use a systems approach to identify a number of issues and see which elements are interrelated.
  • Gain a historical and contextual understanding of the environment to understand how phenomena evolve over time.

How do I obtain my TREC open badge?

The TREC open badge can be issued in two ways:
  • Participation in at least one "long" and one "short" scheme.
  • Participation in at least four short courses.

To obtain an open badge, you must fill in the application form and attach training certificates where requested.
