Putting together your application to rent a property

If you come across the perfect ad, you need to be able to submit your application without delay. That's why it's a good idea to have your documents ready before you start looking.
Although they may vary depending on the landlord's requirements and the type of accommodation, you will need to at a minimum copies of the following documents:
  • Your ID (passport or ID card for EU citizens).
  • Your student card (or certificate of enrolment), or hosting agreement issued by your laboratory.
  • Any proof that you have sufficient resources, and documents relating to the guarantor if applicable (identity and proof of resources of the guarantor or Visale guarantee).

Please note

Applications can only be refused on the basis of objective criteria, such as financial situation. Landlords cannot refuse you access to housing on the basis of your appearance, disability, sexual orientation or religious affiliation, for example.
