What is complementary health insurance?

Complementary health insurance is designed for students whose financial circumstances do not allow them to pay for optional complementary health insurance.
  • It means you don't have to pay for doctors, dentists, physiotherapists, hospitals or medicines.
  • In most cases, it will cover dentures, glasses and hearing aids.
  • It guarantees no advance payment of health costs.
  • It guarantees that doctors' fees are not exceeded.

Who can benefit?

International students

If you have a limited budget, and are registered with the French health insurance system, you can apply for complementary health insurance through your local caisse primaire d'assurance maladie.
