Visit Sustainable Development, Scientific and Technical Culture
April 13, 2026 Grenoble - City center
Visit to the Orange Business Data Center – EOLAS, a center designed to physically host data and computer applications in an eco-responsible manner.
Sending emails, streaming videos, and storing photos online are everyday activities, but all this data is stored in secure facilities called data centers. Studies show that a single data center consumes as much electricity annually as 30,000 European homes.

Since May 2011, Orange Business has been operating the Grenoble Data Center and claims exemplary service quality, latest generation infrastructure and a controlled environmental footprint.

Within its facilities, 2,000 servers run 24/7 and store billions of data points. But to limit its footprint, it is powered by 100% renewable energy, has a near-zero carbon footprint, and does not consume water for its cooling system.

Discover how this Data Center was designed, the technologies used to reduce its impact, and exchange ideas with professionals!
