CVEC is the student and campus life contribution. It applies to students enrolled in initial training at a higher education establishment in France. This contribution is intended to finance student services in the fields of health, sports, culture and student initiatives.
How do I pay the CVEC?
CVEC is a tax of €105 collected by Crous.
You must pay your CVEC before registering with a school. The process is carried out online.
When you register for initial training at a higher education establishment, you must obtain your certificate of payment or exemption from the CVEC in order to enroll in your higher education establishment.
Exempt groups :
Students receiving social grants, recipients of an annual allowance granted under the Crous special assistance scheme, and students in the region's health and social services programs. If you are awaiting notification of your Crous grant, you must first pay the tax. You can be reimbursed once the grant has been notified (reimbursement module opens in September).
Students who are refugees or registered asylum seekers and have the right to remain in the country.
Students benefiting from subsidiary protection.
Be careful!
Being exempt does not mean you don't have to go online.
How do I claim my CVEC refund?
You have paid your CVEC while :
You are enrolled in a course that does not require payment of the CVEC.
You are a scholarship holder (Crous, Région, French government scholarship) or have become a scholarship holder after paying the CVEC.
You qualify for an exemption (refugees, beneficiaries of subsidiary protection, students registered as asylum seekers and entitled to remain in France).
To be reimbursed, you must submit an online request when the reimbursement campaign opens for the current academic year. You'll need to provide the supporting documents requested. The Crous will process your request as quickly as possible.
The CVEC enables us to improve our range of services for our students. Since the introduction of this contribution in 2018, we have multiplied initiatives to meet everyone's needs, creating ever more dynamic and welcoming campuses.
