The FabLab • FabRepair is a university fablab.

It welcomes students and teachers from the various components and engineering schools of the Université Grenoble Alpes Community (Ensimag, Polytech, Ocellia, UFR IM2AG, ENSAG…), researchers and doctoral students from different laboratories (LIG, TIMC-IMAG, Gipsa…), student entrepreneurs (Pépite Osez) and anyone from the university community wanting to work on projects.

It aims to be a place for exchange where all its users can meet, discuss and work together on common projects.

Its objective is to allow users to move from an idea to a concrete object (teaching material, experimental prototype, proof of concept, etc.).
Users are trained and supported by the workshop team in the use of the various machines and tools (3D printer, laser cutter, vinyl cutter, etc.) so that they can manufacture their own object.

The fablab promotes "do it yourself": Do It Yourself • DIY.

Thanks to this method, people become aware more quickly of the errors, difficulties and constraints related to the design of their object and also discover opportunities they did not imagine.

The team also provides support for electronic design, mechanical design and embedded programming (microcontroller).

The FabLab has a specialization in the fields of robotics, home automation and connected objects (IoT).
However, it is open to all fields represented in the university.

Personal (non-professional) projects also have their place, but only on Thursday afternoons.

The FabLab then transforms into a FabRepair (Repair Café), or even a FabBidouille.
This transformation takes place every Thursday afternoon from 12pm to 5pm.

If you have a professional or personal item to repair or overhaul, come to FabRepair to try to do it yourself or ask for help from experienced people.

If you are already a DIY pro, come and help people in need and discover the repair tools (Ifixit Kit, 3D Printer, ...) offered by the FabLab.

FabRepair's slogan is "We try everything, we guarantee nothing!".

"As long as you can bring the equipment to the FabLab, we can try to repair it.
We do not guarantee that we will succeed and in the event of repair we do not guarantee its lifespan.
There are a few exceptions, however; we do not work on equipment that is still under warranty or on safety equipment such as, for example, a child car seat."

The UGA FabLab is also a member of the fablab network and the international Fab Lab community.
