The UGA equality team is offering two awareness sessions on sexist and sexual violence, discrimination, and harassment for doctoral students.

Understanding sexist and sexual violence, discrimination and harassment

As part of its commitment to preventing all forms of violence, UGA is organizing an awareness session on gender-based and sexual violence (GBV), discrimination and harassment for doctoral students, teaching and research staff and UGA personnel:

  • Thursday, April 16, 2026, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Thursday, June 4, 2026, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
This 2-hour awareness session will provide you with the keys to understanding VSS, discrimination, and harassment in higher education and research. It will also enable you to understand the legal definition of these forms of violence and how to react if you are a victim or witness. It will be complemented by a presentation of the UGA's reporting system for VSS, discrimination, and harassment.

Knowing how to react to sexist and sexual violence, discrimination and harassment in the context of the thesis

This awareness session will be followed by a workshop to delve deeper into combating violence against women, discrimination, and harassment within the context of doctoral studies. Open only to doctoral students , this 2-hour workshop will use role-playing exercises to develop the appropriate reflexes for preventing and responding to violence in the context of doctoral supervision. Three workshops of 15 people each will take place from 2 pm to 4 pm.

  • Thursday, April 16, 2026, 2 PM to 4 PM
  • Thursday, June 4, 2026, 2 PM to 4 PM
